Helping

Libby loves helping mommy.

Vacuuming together, dancing, waving at ourselves in the mirror all with mini me attached to my front, those activities bring us great joy.

Libby goes to the museum!

Welcome to Saturday with Libby at the Omaha Children's Museum. Libby is waving hello while we all delight in her itty bitty wonder at the world around her.

Nebraska is so interesting. Libby loves NE and Daddy.
Do you all remember the Zooland at Richman Gordman? Yep, we used to plan on those and there is my baby girl with her Grandpapa on the camel.

Mirrors, blocks, bright colors, family and fun...Omaha Children's Museum.

Cellulitis

Poor baby! Looks like she got in a fight. That is what this bacterial infection did to my little girl. When she woke up we wondered if she had fallen and hit her eye. Even with an inflamed infection around her eye she smiled with one good eye gleaming. We are so glad the antibiotic is working and she can smile with her bright blue eyes open, radiating her joy.

Tip Toes

Our little ballerina likes to crawl and stand on her tip toes. It could melt your heart as you see her peering over the side of the crib. Then you may giggle when seeing her on her tip toes and finger tips as if she can lightly prance around the room. All the while we encouragingly entice her with cell phones and the remote control, no matter what she will get to where she needs to be. Our little girl in on the move. One place she is not moving from is the standing position while in bed. We are not sure she knows how to sit/lay back down.

Daddy's Little Love Bug

Libby went on her first Valentine's Day date with her daddy!
They enjoyed quality shopping time and smiles.
Now she can stand and play with her Baby Einstein table.
"Thank you Daddy!" "I will be yours!"
I Love You!

Happy Valentine's Day

John 13:34-35

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

May the Love of Christ be with you each and everyday. We love you. Libby displays our love the best. Happy Valentine's Day.

Emotional Day

Today I am both delighted and sad at the same time. 1 delighted because Libby loves her Grammy and smiled and wildly waved her hands when she arrived at Grammy and Grandpa Kubicek's this morning, 2 sad because she intentionally waved at me as if to say, "see you later mom, go ahead and go to work." That is both comforting and heart breaking all at the same time.

Then I play with her in the early evening but the moment I leave for BSF, she reaches a new milestone with Daddy. She pulls up and stands to hold his had. I am excited Jason got to experience that but hello Libby, what in the world I was barely down the street you couldn't have done that 5 minutes earlier so I could celebrate with you too.

So I missed it. I guess this is just the start of missing moments, but I pray I get to see most of them. I am just so overjoyed to be a part of her world. I can not be there at every moment so I am glad God is always there. God has entrusted her to our care. I don't want to miss a thing as sang best by Aerosmith. Many moments still to come...

Crawling

What a MOVING day. Libby has figured out how to move forward/intentionally in the direction she would like to go. After watching Carmella, Beau and Alex crawl and walk around this afternoon and Amina and Ana showing off their crawling and walking moves, all of a sudden Libby is moving forward for the cell phone, remote control and Mommy as her heart desires. This opens up a whole new world for her and us. Now we really do need to baby proof our home.

Head Bob, Panting, Bouncing & Waving Hands

Libby is always so excited. She expresses herself so energetically. Now she is waving intentionally at mommy when she is feeding and as mommy is leaving for her work day. She does wave toward herself, but as Libby sees it that is waving.
Libby loves bobbing her head side to side. Especially while she is eating between bites, she must think it helps her chew.
She is going to have the strongest legs. (Just like Daddy, best legs at GHS 2000). She flexes her leg muscles and bounces on your hip all day long (if my arm could hold her all day long). That is how she keeps herself awake when she is getting tired as well.
Libby wildly waves her hands, and unintentionally hits when she is excited. She pants when she can't get any words out.Oh, the joys of an 8 month old. It is so fun to watch her develop.

Scooting...to Crawling

Libby can push herself backward, get on her tip toes and finger tips and scoot forward with her heels on her bottom while sitting, but crawling is still yet to come. That is how Grammy started crawling too, so it must run in the family.
Libby has found a way to maneuver her way to what she wants. It is only a matter of time. Baby proofing is next on the list. I have been plugging outlets with plastic stoppers and covering the crib rails. Good thing we don't have stairs.
Soon she will be walking. She is pulling herself up (with help) and taking steps while holding onto fingers. A whole new adventure to come. Right now she is holding onto the couch trying to get to the computer. What next?
